I love Durian!

Durian, a fruit in which Davao is very known for. It has many spikes and its size varies according to its variety. It is known for its odd odor and unique taste. People from other places may not like this fruit at first try while others instantaneously love its exotic taste. I came to love durian at an early age since our family is growing quite a couple of trees in our farm. We get to eat durian even if its off season and of course for free! As you may know, durian is quite expensive especially if it is not in season. Prices may range from P70 t0 P120 pero kilo if on off season and P35 to P85 if on season depending on the variety. To all of you who haven't tried this amazing fruit, visit Davao and get a taste of what exotic is in the truest sense of the word.

Chocolates, My Ultimate Indulgence

I have no idea how or when or why did it started but Chocolate has been my ultimate indulgence for quite sometime now. Be it a local or an imported chocolates, I would surely munch on it. My love for chocolates is not only limited to the chocolate bars and kisses but also includes the chocolate cookies, ice creams and cakes or anything that is basically chocolate brown in color. I don't know if I may be able to control myself if given a chance to place inside a room full of chocolates. Hahaha! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully diabetes won't sink in. *wink*

Music and meeh!

When I was in my elementary days, my father who is a musician in his own special way, enrolled me in a piano class. I was so hesitant at first since I would rather have ballet classes that a piano class. The first few meeting with my piano teacher since I was not that very receptive with the lessons he is teaching me. I eventually got the hang of it and started learning how to read musical notes myself. Then little do I know I'm playing nursery rhymes already. From that, I was furthermore encouraged to try on some new songs until I was able to play almost all the simple musical scores my teacher gave me. Thanks Sir Harold!. My music adventure was put on hault for 3 years, I was busy with studies since I was graduating from elementary and then adjusting to my highschool life. Junior year was the most relaxed year for me that I enrolled again, this time in an electone organ class. It was a challenged for since a lot of foot works is needed. The shift from piano to organ was kinda difficult on my part but a challenging one. Now, I am a regular chruch organist here in our parish, looking back I can say that I have no regrets in giving music a try.

Baking

Influenced by my mother and my aunt, I started baking cakes and cupcakes at an early age. I find joy discovering new recipes and trying on the old ones. I sometimes combine different procedures in order to make a different new recipe. I'm not a pro on this hobby of mine since baking requires a lot of patience and of course needs a bigger budget. Someday I would like to pursue this hobby and who knows I might enroll in some baking class to refresh me with the basics and to learn a much more elegant ways of baking. In my future posts, expect some favorite recipes of mine. Ciao for now!

Dancing

Ever since I was a kid, I must say that I really love to dance. Dancing for me is one form of self expression. I can't explain the feeling I have when I'm dancing. It's indescribable. When I was in my 2nd grade, my parents enrolled me in a ballet class. I was very delighted and very eager to learn graceful moves of a ballerina. But that did not happen for long time, I decided to stop because my schooling was affected and I was aiming for honors at that time. Even though I was able to continue taking ballet lessons, my passion did not stop there. In my highschool years, I got to join the arts and culture club wherein we perform every school activites their is in Stella Maris. In college, I joined the Ateneo de Davao University Dance Troupe and we got invited to dance in some of the special events here in Davao City. Now, Im planning to enroll in some jazz class in a newly opened school near my mother's residence. I guess nobody can stop me from dancing.

Davao City my Home

I live in Davao City basically my entire life and I am proud to be a DavaoeƱa. Davao City is the cradle pot of Mindanao, meaning to say people living here are diversely rooted from different tribes in Mindanao. In terms of land area, Davao City is said to be the largest city in the world. In addition, Davao City is said to be one of the cleanest city in the world. I have been to many places and I can't help but compare it to my beloved hometown. Those places may have the tallest buildings, the widest malls, the biggest entertainment and amusement parks but I may say that they are not as liveable as Davao City is.
